Sophia's Galaxy's Stiletto Studios invites you to the Boston Seminar Workshop for DIRECTORS/WRITERS with Sophia von Wrangell
Sophia-Louise
von Wrangell is an internationally recognized film director, screenplay writer,
film and screenplay doctor, producer, consultant, and a passionate teacher. She panels at international film festivals, and offers private courses and consultations for short and feature film screenplays, storyboarding for film and comercial work, and emergency consultations for films in pre-production, production and post-production.
An expert in perception, Sophia teaches you how to clarify what you want to say with your film, translate it into cinemagraphic language, and transmit your message accurately.
The
students write 6 short film screenplays, in six weeks time, with which
they explore the most important aspects of a director's work in the context of visual writing.
The group of maximum ten people meets once a week for 4 hours, from 6 pm to 10 pm. The rest of the week they work independently. With Sophia's guidance, the group has the function of reviewing each participant's material from the point of view of the spectator or viewer. The atmosphere is strictly supportive and collaborative.Syllabus

To date Sophia has written 21 screenplays for produced feature films and directed 13 short films. She has written the screenplays for 7 feature films she dreams of making with her own production resources.
One of the first western women to make a career in Cinema, Sophia has an M.A. in Film Direction from the University of Theater and Cinematographic Arts, Ion Luca Caragiale (Bucharest, Romania 1980).

A daring character, Sophia has excelled in many careers spanning film: film production, publicity, television, consulting, teaching and publishing. As early as 1984, she was directing the production of commercials for clients such as Charlie, Revlon, and Quaker. In 1990 she created the Visart School of Direction and Screenplay Writing in Madrid, Spain and two years later in Berlin, Germany.
In search for the philosophic-existentialist angle, Sophia is a big fan of the Short Film. "If you can structure a ten minute unit, you can structure a feature film."
